Who We Are & Where We Are Going

Agoraponics Farms strives to provide environmentally sustainable solutions to community food insecurity for the New Brunswick, New Jersey area using aquaponics. We are a student-led organization from Rutgers University - New Brunswick.

New Brunswick suffers from food insecurity, which is having a lack of consistent access to healthy, affordable, and accessible food. 

Aquaponics is a system of aquaculture in which the waste produced by farmed fish supplies nutrients for plants grown hydroponically, which in turn purifies the water. 

We aim to start a sustainable aquaponics business with the goal of providing healthy, affordable, and organic food sources like locally sourced fish and produce to urban areas like New Brunswick and to build a scalable solution to hunger and malnutrition.
